School Admissions Counseling

We believe that selecting the right school, at any level, is a highly personal family decision. Understanding the application process and learning to evaluate one's credentials will help a student to stay in charge of the application process and make informed decisions and choices.

Just as important as where a student is admitted to school, is how he or she experiences the application process. Our goal is to help each student get through the process with self-esteem intact. In an on-going relationship, we guide and support the student throughout the application process, communicating in family and one-to-one meetings and by telephone, fax, email, and letters. Emphasizing each student's individual educational and personal needs, we focus on defining a list of right schools, preparing applications, mock interviewing, and discussing the elements of a winning personal essay. This customized service continues until the time of placement, at which time we assist the family in choosing the most appropriate school or college.

We provide assistance for students and their families, domestic and international, in the form of single-session consultations as well as on-going counseling. For more specific information about our admissions-related services, click on the applicable link below.

General Educational Counseling

Families also visit our office to discuss concerns about a child's academic progress. We advise on the usefulness of subject tutors, homework helpers, test preparation, therapy, and educational testing, as interventions and as tools to help assess a student's learning profile and to improve his or her overall adjustment to and success in school.

Resume Preparation

Writing a resume is much like applying to school. The goal is to capture a prospective employer's attention and effectively present your credentials and educational experience. This service may include assistance in planning and writing a resume, cover letters, and follow-up letters.

Consulting

We also serve as consultants to private schools to train college counselors or to oversee the school's college guidance program.
